Carbon molecular sieve is a new type of adsorbent developed in the 1970s. It is an excellent non-polar carbon material.
Because it is rich in a large number of micropores with a diameter of 4 angstroms, the micropores have an instant affinity for oxygen molecules and can be used to separate oxygen and nitrogen in the air, use pressure swing adsorption device (PSA) to produce nitrogen. Carbon molecular sieve has large nitrogen production capacity, high nitrogen recovery rate and long lifetime. It is suitable for various types of PSA nitrogen generators and is the first choice for PSA nitrogen generators.
Carbon molecular sieve uses the characteristics of sieving to achieve the purpose of separating oxygen and nitrogen. When the molecular sieve adsorbs gas, the macropores and mesopores only serve as channels to transport the adsorbed molecules to the micropores and submicropores. The carbon molecular sieve contains a large number of micropores, which allow small dynamic size molecules diffuse rapidly into the pores while restricting the entry of large diameter molecules. Due to the difference in the relative diffusion rate of gas molecules of different sizes, the components of the gas mixture can be effectively separated.
When manufacturing a carbon molecular sieve, according to the size of the molecule, the micropore distribution inside the carbon molecular sieve should be 0.28~0.38nm. Within this micropore size range, oxygen can quickly diffuse into the pores through the pores of the micropores, but nitrogen is difficult to pass through the pores of the micropores, so as to achieve oxygen and nitrogen separation. The size of the micropore gap is the basis for carbon molecular sieve to separate oxygen and nitrogen. If the size is too large, both oxygen and nitrogen molecular will easily enter the micropores and will not be able to separate; while if too small, both oxygen and nitrogen cannot be separated.
For a long time, carbon molecular sieve supply was dominated by factories in Japan and Germany. Since year 2000, domestic molecular sieve manufacturers emerged and have grown from small to large. Thanks for the big market in China, and with continuous technological innovation, now Chinese carbon molecular sieve have seized most of the domestic market share. In international market, made-in-China molecular sieves are also used by more and more nitrogen generator manufacturers and end users because of the high performance and low price.
At present, carbon molecular sieve manufacturers are making continuous efforts to improve the nitrogen production capacity, nitrogen recovery rate, bulk density, compressive strength and other indicators, striving to establish a competitive advantage and win more market shares. At the same time, because carbon molecular sieve is the main component of PSA nitrogen generator, its cost accounts for more than 60% of the entire equipment, therefore, reducing costs is also an important direction of improvement.
Thanks for our technologies accumulation in both carbon molecular sieve and nitrogen generator equipment manufacturing, after more than ten years development, the comprehensive performance of Gamma Gas carbon molecular sieve has made it one of the best CMS in the market.
Seeing is believing, welcome nitrogen generator manufacturers and end users to test the performance of our carbon molecular sieve and make comparison. After testing, you will find that a good CMS supplier is found.
